Miles' Notes, May 17
hello from new york...
miles here (pic ft. me and the uss intrepid in nyc)
happy friday! you're catching me in the midst of a travel bender. travel is so much more fun if you can fit in work and play...here i come europa!
what i'm listening to ~
khruangbin. i was introduced to khruangbin by my good friend maria, my source for many a persistent earworm, and i had the pleasure of seeing khruangbin live for the second time this past weekend at arcosanti's annual form festival. khruangbin, which means 'flying engine,' or airplane, in thai, could be described as psychedelic thai funk, but the band probably wouldn't appreciate being put in a box. both of the band's two released albums to date are 🔥. khruangbin's landing page, airkhruang, is also epic playlist-maker curated by the band, frankly i've been having a little too much fun riffling through the band's music tastes the last couple hours...
what i'm being distracted by ~
just going to leave this here...
quote i'm pondering ~
"you can escape competition through authenticity when you realize that no one can compete with you on being you."
"...and normally that would have been useless advice pre-internet. post-internet you can turn that into a career." - naval ravikant*
thanks for reading, i appreciate you.
my best,
miles
*hat tip to prasanna krishnamoorthy for the ravikant quote!
